Suitable for Children 5 years and Over
Basic Flower Arranging is a wonderful activity for children. It teaches young children how to create beauty in their space. It also developes fine motor skills, independence and concentration. They also develop senses of smell, sight and touch.
At our 'Kids Half Term Halloween Workshop children will paint their own Halloween flower pot and fill it to the brim with seasonal flowers to take home to be enjoyed by their family.
There is more to flower arranging than you might think:
Children learn more if they are enjoying themselves.
For young children:
Direct Skills
Develop a sense of beauty.
Learn the principles of caused connection i.e. not adding water, the flower will die. Pushing too hard the flower will snap.
Improve co-ordination when doing manual activities like using scissors and pouring water, placing flowers.
Indirect Skills
Developing voluntary movement.
Building a sense of Symmetry.
Practice decision making.
All materials will be provided.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Light refreshments tea, coffee and juice are included.
